In the heart of Lower Saxony, on the edge of the Lüneburger Heide, lies Europe’s largest and most unique safari park. Our park, which is recognized as a zoological garden, offers more than 1500 wild animals a natural home. And our special attention is the breeding and arterial behavior of many endangered animal species. In the many spacious and navigable landscaped areas you can feel the coexistence of people and animals and experience a bit of nature consciously. In the petting zoo and in the jungle safari, where more than 200 monkeys live, you can meet some of the animals firsthand. The Serengeti Park is an experience between National Park and Zoo. The leisure park with many rides and a breathtaking show program offers you an action-packed adventure! Europe’s largest safari-jeep-parcours, our jungle safari-tour, the Aqua-Safari with airboats and the new “Black-Mamba” -Jetboats specially designed for the Serengeti Park since 2015 are real highlights. That’s too much for a day? No problem, just park your camp in the park and stay in the middle of the animals in one of our Masai Mara or safari lodges, or stay in your camper on one of the pitches in the Masai Mara complex. We are delighted to offer you a unique trip and wish you an exciting adventure on your personal safari through the Serengeti!
The largest land mammal in the world Before, elephants were spread all over Africa, today you can only find them from Sudan to South Africa. They live in savannahs, bushsteads, forests, wetlands and mountain slopes. It is admirable how delicate and clever an elephant can handle his trunk: picking up objects is easy for him. At the same time, the trunk is also the odor and feeler organ.
The Bison is also known as “Indian Buffalo”. It is the only wild rind and at the same time the most powerful mammal on the American continent! Before Europeans came to America, there was a billowing grassy sea-the great prairie, which seemed endlessly wide. She was the home of the bison. It is hardly imaginable that almost 60 million of these mighty animals lived here! For the Indians the bison was vital: they lived from his flesh, made their clothes and tents from his skin, and worked his horns into jewelery.
Bestaune the animals with the longest eyelashes! These protect the giraffes from injuries that they could get through twigs and thorns. Observe how elegant and sublime the giraffes wander through our extensive plant! They can even get really fast and reach up to 55 km / h! Giraffes are the highest animals in the world with up to six meters and live only in the African savannah. There are eight subspecies, which differ in their skin color. Because of their physique and their coat pattern it was thought earlier that the giraffe was a cross between camel and leopard.
The Amur Leopard is the rarest big cat on earth! He used to be very common: you could find him in East Siberia between North Korea and the Russian tundra. Today, he is only found in the open air at the Amur River. There live about 50 animals, the only free-living Amur leopards worldwide! In zoological gardens today about 200 of these rare animals live.
