Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, Vallejo CA
Take a look at all the amazing things to do while at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom — from pulse-pounding roller coasters to gentler options for tots. Take a break at one of our entertaining shows and catch a bite at one of our restaurants.
Family fun is what Six Flags is all about. So get ready to let loose and laugh. From the highest heights to the gentlest adventures, we’ve got plenty of rides you can enjoy together. Family Friendly Rides For Everyone,
Monsoon Falls
It’s one thing to ride a wave, and another thing to be the wave! Step into the peaceful-looking boathouse by a picturesque lagoon. But be warned, this ride will be anything but peaceful. Pile into the big boat and try to catch your breath while we crank you up notch by notch, higher than the trees. Brace yourself for what’s coming next – an ultra-steep drop down a 60-foot splashy waterfall, straight into the lagoon below you.
The Ark,
Arrr matey! Climb aboard the swift wooden pirate ship, The Ark, and take a rip-roaring voyage across the open ocean through the high seas. It looks like smooth sailing when you first board this beautifully carved traditional tiki boat, but once you take your seat on the deck of this vessel, you’ll set sail to breathtaking heights and be tossed high and low as if you were lost at sea!
Animal Attractions
At the heart of Six Flags Discovery Kingdom is its diverse animal program, where guests, young and old, can enjoy strolling through the LAND area of the park to see beautiful cats, such as African lions, Bengal and Siberian tigers and cougars relaxing in their tranquil outdoor exhibits or see an Asian elephant playing in her pool. In SEA, the marine mammals, such as bottlenose dolphins, Pacific walruses, California sea lions and our aquatic bird species, the endangered African penguins, can be found. Walk through the serene Butterfly Habitat or gaze at the often misunderstood sharks in the Shark Experience
Looking for thrills? Well, you’ve found them. In fact, you’ve found some of the fastest, tallest, wildest, most gut-wrenching rides in the country-including a few record-breakers.
Boomerang Coast to Coaster
The boomerang was invented by ancient Australian tribes as the ultimate weapon. What’s the benefit of the boomerang over a plain old stick? When you throw it, it slices through the air and then comes right back to you. But what happens if you hurl a mega-ton steel train down 935 feet of track at nearly 50 miles per hour? And what if we threw in three mind-ripping loops to get in your way? You’re gonna fly through this monster and then return to the starting point.
The Cobra
Sure, this elaborately modeled, snake-themed junior coaster looks tame enough. But you should never trust a snake, because this fast-paced jaunt will keep your whole family coiled up in nonstop fun! As the giant snake pulls into the station you’ll notice a larger-than-life cobra head is hissing front of this slithering ride, and you’ll be riding on its scaly back. The snake train is so long the head and tail probably don’t know what each other are doing. But wherever you ride, this course will bring out the snake charmer in you.
The Hammerhead Shark
Reaching a dramatic 50 feet in the air, two of the sea’s most fearsome predators make way for an over-the-top swinging tower over you. It’s the hammerhead shark—except these are more than ten times the size of the ones you’ll find on your next trip swimming across the Pacific Ocean. They’re standing on their heads with their tails extended high in the air. But you know a shark always has to keep moving, so grab onto this big fish and hang on for an incredible ride! You and 23 other adventurers will take a seat on these sharks’ most famous feature—their broad hammerheads. Then each giant sea creature swings around like a pendulum, swinging you with it until you’re completely upside down.
Medusa
In Greek mythology, the dreaded monster Medusa was half woman and half serpent. Even the bravest warriors were no match for her. It is said that she was so nasty that just one look at her and her hair full of deadly snakes would turn any mortal into stone. With seven relentless inversions looping like snakes made of steel, let’s see if you can face up to this legendary beast. At 3,937 feet, Medusa is the longest and highest coaster in Northern California. Dangle your feet in the air because you’ll be taking this one floorless.
Foods and Cuisines
Food is important fuel that makes all of the day’s adventures possible, but sharing a delicious meal with friends and family is also a huge part of the fun. Getting together over a tasty meal or perfect snack and laughing about all of the rides you’ve mastered, while making plans for the good times yet to come, adds to the magical memories of your trip to Six Flags with every bite. Whether you feel like sitting down to a piping hot Famous Famiglia Pizza, spicing things up with a delicious Mexican meal, exploring richly flavorful Asian cuisine, or even if you just have a hankering for an all-American burger and fries, you’ll discover exactly what you’re looking for every time. Hungry for a quick snack in-between roller coasters? Get ready to enjoy every goodie you can imagine, from pretzels and popcorn to rich desserts.
