Six Flags Great Adventure is an amusement park located in Jackson, New Jersey, owned by Six Flags Entertainment Corp. Situated between New York City and Philadelphia, the park complex also contains the Hurricane Harbor water park.The park opened in 1974 under restaurateur Warner LeRoy. Six Flags took over ownership of the park in 1977. Today, the park contains eleven themed areas.
On August 30, 2012, Six Flags combined its 160-acre (65 ha) Great Adventure Park with its 350-acre (140 ha) Wild Safari animal park to form the 510-acre (210 ha) Great Adventure & Safari park, making it the second-largest theme park in the world, after Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Due to the popularity of this new attraction, wait times can be up to 2.5 hours on busy operating days. In addition, the line may close earlier than 5 p.m. to accommodate all of those already in line. If Safari Off Road Adventure is on your must-do list, we recommend making it one of your first experiences of the day. Duration of the attraction is about 45 minutes, plus however long you choose to stay at Camp Aventura and experience the small animals.
Boasting 1,200 animals from six continents including elephants, rhinos, tigers, giraffes and lions, Safari Off Road Adventure takes explorers on an exhilarating, interactive animal adventure. Guests enter the amazing, fictional world of the Wilds Family, who have traveled the globe to bring the most interesting and exotic creatures to their 350-acre preserve in Jackson, New Jersey. Their journey begins in a rustic loading station in Frontier Adventures filled with artifacts from the Wilds’ global expeditions.

Well there’s nothing like a nice little nerve-wracking stroll down into an authentic GOTHAM CITY rail station. As you may know, GOTHAM’s a rough town, and this run-down dilapidated subway station has seen better days. Board a train for a relentless ride through the very dark abandoned subway line, in an elaborately designed cinematic set. It’s covered with graffiti and lit by flickering strobes. If you keep your eyes peeled you just might see THE JOKER or THE DARK KNIGHT himself.
You will face six complete 180 degree turns, and a series of hair-raising ups and down from a height of 45 feet. Ever try that kind of thing in a dark, enclosed space at 30 miles per hour? Now you know why it isn’t easy fighting crime in town like this!
